The Fourth Monkey

The Fourth Monkey (A 4MK Thriller, #1)

The Fourth Monkey by J.D. Barker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a good thriller with a bad guy I liked. Not everyone would agree with me, but I think that may be what makes this story so great. I look forward to another 4MK novel, he deserves, heck we deserve, to see how his story continues to unfold. Read it, it would be a great book for a book club discussion.

The audiobook was terrific, and he narrators kept me listening late into the night.

The Sisters Arcana by Ken Janssens, Narrated by Zidge Gray

I have to be totally honest, I spent so much time trying to adjust the speed of the playback that I am not really sure what the book is about. After listening for 5 hours I had to draw the line for how much of my time I’d give this audiobook. The narrator reads like a child reading a Dick and Jane book. It was excruciatingly slow. After a few hours of listening I gave up. I can’t give a fair star rating so I went with 3.

I was given a free copy of the audiobook for my honest review, and I wish I could actually review the book, but as I said, the narration was terrible and I couldn’t suffer any longer.

The Shining by Stephen King, Campbell Scott (Narrator)

The Shining (The Shining #1)The Shining by Stephen King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I think the book was awesome. I will still love the movie, even though it’s very different. Different because the characters of the movie can’t compare to the books characters. The scare in the movie was more scary than the book. I can see why King doesn’t like the movie.

Narration was ok. The gentleman’s voice was a bit monotone, and made it difficult to listen to when I was tired.

Review: Remembrance: (New Adult Paranormal Romance)

Remembrance: (New Adult Paranormal Romance)
Remembrance: (New Adult Paranormal Romance) by Heather Hildenbrand
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Easy to read, suspenseful, and very sexy. This is the first book by Heather Hildenbrand that I’ve read, and I am buying the next book after I finish this review. I have it free through kindle unlimited, but when I love a story this much, I happily support the author! If you are a fan of PNR, this is a fantastic read!

Review: Behind Her Eyes

Behind Her Eyes
Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It’s easy to see why there is a comparison to Girl on the Train and Gone Girl. Behind Her Eyes is told in the same manner. Chapters come from different people, and from their point of view. What isn’t the same as either of those is the way it ends. Not the way it twists at the end, but the EXTRA twist at the VERY end. I’d figured it out just over halfway through, but I didn’t take it far enough. I absolutely love that this had me fooled. It’s hard to do when I read as much as I do, and Sara Pinborough got me good! Great story, deep characters, and excellent narration by Anna Bentinck, Josie Dunn, Bea Holland, and Huw Parmenter.
